I am drawn to coasts and archipelagos because they are ever-changing. Each time you look there are different dialogues between the sea the sky and the land.

ROYAL ACADEMY SUMMER EXHIBITION 2023

‘Coastal Lines, Tresco, Isles of Scilly’ Room IX - No.1206 - Selected by Eileen Cooper OBE RA

My focus since 2021 has been working as an artist creating both drawings and paintings predominantly of the coastlines around the Isles of Scilly in Cornwall. I’m fascinated by climate issues facing these coastlines and the history of the land dating back to Bronze Age settlements. After fewer than 2 years working as a painter, one of my paintings was selected for the Royal Academy Summer 2023 exhibition.

The islands are just so breathtakingly beautiful. I am completely inspired by all the little nooks and crannies you can find yourself in, the textures of the rocks and plant-life and the swooping shapes of the islands and their coastlines.
